Amazon Launches One-Day Free Shipping For Prime Members

Lawd, as if we aren't already trying to compete with getting orders to our customers in two days. The tech giant confirmed it will compete with itself and include more products eligible for free one-day shipping to Prime members with no minimum purchase.

Amazon announced a few days ago it would begin shipping 1-day deliveries!

"As you may have heard, we are expanding one-day delivery with Amazon Prime. Today, Prime Free One Day is available to members with no minimum purchase amount on more than ten million products, coast to coast. Millions of members are already noticing and enjoying free one-day delivery right to their door, garage and even to their car. That means last-minute birthday presents, sunscreen and beach towels for an impromptu getaway, as well as closet organizers and cleaning products – all delivered the very next day."

Amazon is obsessed with the customer experience and making their lives easier, better and more fun. I'm personally excited about this change.

Here are some fun facts about this new change:

  • Expanded one-day selection and the delivery areas starting in early April and they aren't done yet.
  • In Q4 we announced that we expanded same-day and one-day delivery to more than 10,000 cities and towns, and today Prime Free One Day is available on ten million products, coast to coast.
  • Prime Free One Day is available on more than ten million products today.
  • Prime is available in 17 countries today.

Prime Free One Day is possible because Amazon has been building its network for over 20 years, enabling them to create a world-class customer experience powered by incredible employees and great technology. They’ve strategically grown their network in the U.S. to include 110 fulfillment centers, 40 package sortation centers, 100 delivery stations, and 20 air gateways all to be closer to our customers.
Yes, Prime members in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico can take advantage of free delivery with Prime.
What does this mean for small businesses?

The same thing it's meant for years. For some small businesses that already have an audience, great you are A o.k. Even though you are missing sales on Amazon since this will make the experience even that much better for your audience.

My favorite saying, if you can't beat them JOIN THEM!

That's what my brands across the board have done and successfully so.

You have to look at the Pros & Cons and see how you can leverage the pros for your brand.

To make matters worse, they are launching drone deliveries as well. So not 24-hour delivery but now a few hours.

Amazon has been hard at work building fully electric drones that can fly up to 15 miles and deliver packages under five pounds to customers in less than 30 minutes. And, with the help of their world-class fulfillment and delivery network, they expect to scale Prime Air both quickly and efficiently, delivering packages via drone to customers within months.

We talk a ton about innovate or die in our and this right here is a perfect example.
